The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Associated Industrial Services Occupations – Passive Fire Protection (Construction) qualification is aimed at candidates who are employed in a Passive Fire Protection role. It has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment.

Entry Requirements:

The qualification will assess a learner’s competence in their current job role. Learners must be aged 16+ and be working in a role that will allow them to demonstrate their competence against the units below. 

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Associated Industrial Services Occupations – Passive Fire Protection (Construction) - Course content and delivery:

The learner will be assessed using a range of methods tailored to the learners needs.  These vary from on-site assessments, observations, written questions, evidence generated from the workplace, professional discussions, and witness testimonials.

Candidates must complete all of the Mandatory units, plus TWO Optional units.

Mandatory Units:

• Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
• Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
• Erecting and Dismantling Access/Working Platforms in the workplace
• Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Optional Units:

• Installing flexible (non-mechanical) cavity barriers in the workplace
• Installing fire stopping and penetration seals in the workplace
• Installing Fire Resisting Timber Door Assemblies and Doorsets in the Workplace
• Installing fire resisting ductwork systems in the workplace
• Installing dry cladding to protect structural steel in the workplace
• Erecting fire resisting walls and wall linings in the workplace
• Erecting fire resisting ceiling systems in the workplace
• Applying thin film reactive coatings in the workplace
• Applying non-reactive spray coatings in the workplace
